eBay Buying and Selling

We have our own eBay account, *Friends-of-Bwindi*.

We are registered with 'Ebay for Charity' and with their charity partner 'Missionfish'. If you use Ebay to sell items, you can support us by becoming a Community Seller - you can choose to donate 10-100% of the proceeds of any auction to your chosen charity (hopefully us!), with Gift Aid added where possible. You get a charity ribbon added to your listing. Find out more about being an eBay Community Seller

A small amount is taken from the total for administration; please check conditions on eBay/Missionfish websites. If you are not eligible for Gift Aid you may prefer to just do an ordinary auction and donate the proceeds.

We have joined an informal eBay group, ‘Monthly Daft Charity Coalition’ (MDCC). Members list up to five items each on the last Sunday of each month except December, with auctions ending the following Sunday. We include MDCC in the titles to make the items easily searchable, and the proceeds go to our favourite charities and good causes. Items are not necessarily sensible! We chat on the ‘Round Table’ community board on eBay.

This has been very successful so far and has resulted in several donations as well as the sale prices of the items.

We list with MDCC each month so please look out for our auctions! Don't forget, they begin on the last Sunday of the month and end on the first sunday of the month - to search for them type MDCC into the ebay search bar.

You would also be very welcome to join MDCC, supporting Friends of Bwindi or another good cause - if you want to donate the proceeds to Friends of Bwindi or another eBay for Charity member you can choose to use the eBay for Charity scheme for your MDCC auctions.

If you would like to donate items for us to sell please contact us. We can also make use of jewellery findings and other craft materials (perhaps from an abandoned hobby?) and have a volunteer who can sort out your old stamp collections for us to sell.
