Ways you can Help
There are lots of ways to support Friends of Bwindi, and most don't involve spending any extra money!
One of our motivations in starting Friends of Bwindi was to give visitors and their friends a way of helping Bwindi communities, providing a 'bridge' between remote communities around Bwindi and well-wishers from around the world.
These pages suggest a variety of ways that you can help, from changing your web search habits to running marathons!
If you are planning a visit and would like to take something useful with you, please contact us - as well as the items listed on our Clear Out Your Drawers page we may have some other useful things that you could take for us!

Fund raising
Visitors to Bwindi often want to raise funds when they get home, but there are barriers to supporting local organisations including the problem of credibility - if you are raising money and asking for donations, you want to be sure that the funds will be used as intended. Organisations with charitable status are subject to statutory regulations which mean that our trustees must do their best to ensure this, and monitoring and feedback are conditions of our funding.
Clear Out Your Drawers
Many of the things lurking unused in your house and cluttering up your drawers could be put to good use by Friends of Bwindi and our beneficiaries in Uganda.
Spread the Word

Make a Donation
Obviously we can make good use of all donations – and unlike many larger charities Friends of Bwindi is run entirely by volunteers and we are able to keep overheads to a minimum. You can even increase the value of your donation by making a Gift Aid declaration, adding 28p to every £1 donated (or £2.80 to £10, £28 to £100 ...)
