Our 100% Commitment
Friends of Bwindi is run entirely by volunteers working from home - we have no paid staff and no office costs.
We do not send out mass mailings or use other expensive fund raising techniques.
This means that overheads are minimal and we can commit 100% of your donations to direct support of our partners & beneficiaries in Uganda.
If you make a donation to Friends of Bwindi every penny, cent, euro or rouble will be used in direct support of our partners and beneficiaries in Uganda - either for grant payments or to pay for services or items bought on their behalf (eg postage for sending donated items)
All other Friends of Bwindi expenses, including bank transfer fees for sending funds to Ugandan accounts (our highest overhead and an inevitable part of the costs of supporting our activities) come from our own fund raising - such as our ebay account, online search and shopping portal - and from Gift Aid payments, so please make a gift aid declaration if you make an eligible donation!
In fact our overheads are so low that most of these funds go straight to Uganda, too. Our trustees and volunteers are unpaid and work from home and our main expenses last year (other than grants and bank transfer fees) were postage of items sold on our eBay for Charity account *Friends-of-Bwindi* and fees for receiving online payments and donations. (We have now found an online donation service with even lower fees!)
